Get To Know The Team Behind Hemp Sheet Studios

Just over a year ago, the idea of Hemp Sheet Studios was born. Over the past year we have loved seeing our business develop and grow, and we are so grateful for everyone that has supported us so far throughout this journey.

After reflecting on the past year, we thought now would be a great time to share with you a little more about us and HSS. And what better way than by sharing some of our bed habits with you and what we love about HSS, as well as some sneaky secrets about what might be coming...

Jai & Karla

What is currently on your bed?

Natural Sheet Set with the White Duvet Cover Set.

Who is the most likely to eat in bed?

Jai: Me, especially when there’s desert on the menu.

Karla: Definitely Jai, I only dream about a coffee in bed in the morning.

Who is the most likely to stay in bed the longest?

Jai: Karla.

Karla: Yeah but who could blame me when the sheets feel as good as ours do!

Who makes the bed?

Karla: Jai does. I don’t quite meet Jai’s high bed making standards.

Who chooses your bed sheets?

We both have input.

Are you top sheeters?

Yes we are.

Karla: Jai loves a top sheet so that it saves washing the duvet set all the time, I also love a top sheet, as long as it doesn’t involve tucking it in.

How often do you wash your sheets?

Jai: Not often enough, but too often according to Karla!

What is your favorite bedtime read, watch and/or listen?

Karla: I love some reality TV drama to switch off (Married at First Site anyone!?) once it's over though, straight to bed.

Jai: I will try to read and pretend not to watch Karla’s shows.

What do you like most about HSS?

We are really proud of the products and brand we have created so far. It’s nice to build something that’s not only benefiting customers by providing top quality products, but also helping with the environment by shifting away from carbon intensive textile production.

What are you most excited for coming up?

Obviously the new colour ranges we are looking to release, and hopefully some other Hemp homewares and maybe loungewear (shhhhh..).

Jacob & Eliza

What is currently on your bed?

A full mix and match; Olive Fitted Sheet, White Duvet Cover and the new Agean Blue Pillowcases.

Who is the most likely to eat in bed?

Jacob: Eliza, we have had to put in some restrictions when the White Duvet is on but there’s no holding back when chocolate is out!

Eliza: 100% Jacob, although he would never admit it.

Who is the most likely to stay in bed the longest?

Jacob: Eliza, it’s a hobby of hers.

Eliza: This is true. Why else would we have a sheet business.

Who makes the bed?

Team effort.

Who chooses your bed sheets?

Jacob: Team effort with Eliza having the final say.

Are you top sheeters?

Jacob: Love them but I am a wriggler so it ends up at the bottom rendering it useless.

Eliza: I would be but Jacob kicks it down every time.

How often do you wash your sheets?

Once a fortnight (that could be a lie!).

What is your favorite bedtime read, watch and/or listen?

Jacob: Anything trending on Netflix to switch off, or even a good book depending on how we are feeling.

Eliza: Poetry is my go to, I love I am Her Tribe by Danielle Dobson right now. Also love a good true crime or documentary on Netflix although convincing Jacob is near impossible.

What do you like most about HSS?

Jake: Sleeping easy knowing it is organic and that there are no nasties in the sheets leaking onto my temple of a body.

Eliza: I grew up with eczema and hemp has been the most comfortable fabric to sleep in- especially on those hot summer nights. I really could not recommend hemp fabric products (especially organic) for people who suffer from skin conditions like eczema. It is thermoregulating making it super breathable and it is a product that is mindful of our environment which is super important to me.

What are you most excited for coming up?

We are very excited about the fresh colour range we have coming, with a focus on warming up your room this year. We are also so just excited to continue to collaborate, be innovative and creative with our epic team.
